URBAN AREAS DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY KOHAT

Mandate

The Community Development and Outreach section serves as the bridge between UADA and the people of Kohat. Its core mandate is to ensure that UADA’s work is responsive to the needs and aspirations of the community, fostering a sense of ownership and partnership in the city’s development.

Responsibilities

        Community Engagement and          Consultation:
  • Conduct regular public consultations, workshops, and forums to gather feedback on UADA’s plans, projects, and policies.
  • Establish and maintain communication channels, such as social media, newsletters, and a dedicated website, to inform the community about UADA’s activities and solicit their input.
  • Build relationships with community leaders, organizations, and stakeholders to foster trust and collaboration.
       Social Impact Assessment               (SIA):
  • Conduct SIAs for all UADA projects to assess their potential social impacts, both positive and negative.
  • Identify vulnerable groups and ensure that their needs are considered in project planning and implementation.
  • Develop and implement mitigation measures to address any adverse social impacts.
       Community Development                   Programs:
  • Design and deliver community development programs that address the specific needs and priorities of Kohat’s residents.
  • Focus on areas such as education, healthcare, economic development, and social welfare.
  • Partner with local organizations and NGOs to lever age their expertise and resources.
        Civic Engagement and                        Participation:
  • Encourage and facilitate civic engagement and participation in UADA’s decision-making processes.
  • Empower residents to take an active role in shaping their community’s future.
  • Promote a sense of civic responsibility and pride in Kohat’s development.

Job Descriptions

Director of Community Development and Outreach:  Provides overall leadership and strategic direction for the section . Oversees community engagement, SIA, community development programs, and civic participation initiatives.

Community Outreach Coordinators:  Plan and  conduct public consultations, workshops, and forums. Manage communication channels and build relationships with community stakeholders.

Social Impact Assessment Specialists:  Conduct SIAs, identify vulnerable groups, and develop mitigation measures.

Community Development Officers:  Design and deliver community development programs in collaboration with local partners.

Civic Engagement Facilitators:  Encourage and facilitate civic engagement and participation in UADA’s decision-making processes.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

      Community Satisfaction: Measured through surveys and feedback

  • Stake holder Engagement: Number of public consultations held, participation rates, and feed back received.
