Mandate

 The Technology and Innovation section is the driving force behind UADA’s digital transformation. Its core mandate is to leverage technology to enhance UADA’s operational efficiency, improve service delivery, and foster a culture of innovation within the organization and the community.

Responsibilities

        Geographic Information                Systems (GIS) Implementation:
  • Implement and maintain GIS plat forms for spatial data management ,analysis ,and visualization.
  • Develop GIS-based    applications   for   urban   planning,   land management, infrastructure mapping, and environmental monitoring.
  • Train UADA staff on the use of GIS tools and techniques for decision-making and problem-solving.
          Smart City Technologies                  Exploration and Piloting:
  • Research and identify emerging smart city technologies that can address Kohat’s urban challenges.
  • Conduct pilot projects to test the feasibility and effectiveness of these technologies in the local context.
  • Develop implementation strategies for scalable and sustainable smart city solutions.
         Data-Driven Solutions                       Development:
  • Collect, analyze ,and interpret data from various sources to gain insights into urban trends, patterns, and challenges.
  • Develop data-driven solutions for urban planning ,transportation management, resource allocation, and service delivery optimization.
  • Utilize machine learning ,artificial intelligence, and other advanced analytics techniques to enhance decision-making and problem-solving.
          Community Technology                    Promotion:
  • Organize workshops, training programs, and awareness campaigns to promote the use of technology in the community.
  • Collaborate with educational institutions, businesses, and NGOs to foster digital literacy and skills development.
  • Support the development of attach-savvy work force to meet the demand sofa modern urban environment.

Job Descriptions

  • Director of Technology and Innovation:  Provides overall leadership and strategic direction for the section  Oversees GIS implementation, smart city initiatives, data-driven solutions development, and community technology promotion.
  • GIS Specialists:   Implement and maintain GIS platforms, develop GIS-based applications, and provide training to UADA staff.
  • Smart City Analysts:  Research and identify emerging technologies, conduct pilot projects, and develop implementation strategies.
  • Data Scientists:   Collect, analyze ,and interpret data .Develop data-driven solutions using advanced analytics techniques.
  • Community Technology Coordinators: Organize workshops, training programs, and awareness campaigns to promote technology adoption in the community.

  • GIS Utilization Rate: Percentage of UADA staff utilizing GIS tools for decision-
  • Smart City Pilot Success Rate: Percentage of successful smart city pilot projects.
  • Data-Driven Solutions Adoption: Number of data-driven solution simple mended and their impact on operational efficiency and service delivery.
  • Community Technology Adoption Rate: Percentage of residents and businesses utilizing technology for various purposes.
  • Digital Literacy Index: A composite measure of digital literacy and skills among the community.
